CONSUMER RESOURCES |
BCC
has recently released a number of new consumer resources.
Online information about Paget’s disease of the nipple,
inflammatory breast cancer and locally advanced breast cancer
is now available on the breasthealth website listed under
the
different types of breast cancer.
The website contains information about the signs, symptoms
and diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, follow-up
and support for the different types of breast cancer.
The information was developed by a multidisciplinary working
group. It is also available to download and print from the
resources section of the NBOCC website as a hand-out for
patients.
A printed booklet about lymphoedema following treatment for
breast cancer is also now available. The information is based
on the latest evidence and contains information about signs
and symptoms of lymphoedema, how to reduce risk and approaches
to the management of the condition. The booklet is a supplement
to A guide for women with early breast cancer
and will be distributed with all new orders for this resource.
